Update on Second Annual Jefferson Davis Conference

There have been a few updates for the second annual Jefferson Davis Conference.

We have added two speakers, Pastor John Weaver, and Rev. George Lacy.

Pastor Weaver plans to present on the following themes:

The Black Robe Regiment, Dark Winter at Valley Forge, Jack Hinson (Confederate Sniper), and more.

Rev. Lacy plans to present on the Christian patriotism of Beverly Tucker Lacy.

Other topics include biblical patriotism, Psalm 78, and a continuation of Lessons from the Life of Robert E. Lee.

Lord willing, the conference will be held at the Machen Retreat Center in McDowell, Virginia, and kick off around 2 pm on Monday, July 4th, and will conclude around 2 pm on Thursday, July 7th.

Possible activities include hiking, camp fire singing, confederate dance, fireworks, and more!

We have firearms instruction from a licensed instructor lined up for both beginners and more advanced users.

For those interested, we will begin cooking and baking beginning Friday, July 1st, and worship will be held at the Machen Center on the 3rd of July.

Overnight lodging costs are as follows:

Cabins: $15 per person per overnight (maximum of $60 per family per night); and

Tent Camping / RV: $10 per person per overnight (only three RV spots with hookup).

Due to the Machen Retreat Center’s affiliation with the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (“OPC”), members of the OPC will receive a $5 per person per overnight discount on all lodging options.

Meals will be provided; suggested donations for meals are $5/person/meal (maximum of $20/family/meal). For those with dietary restrictions, please feel free to bring your own meals, as a kitchen will be available for your use.

Donations will be gladly accepted to defray the cost of travel, lodging, and remuneration of speakers.
